This little pin is the
Roman Numeral XX and is equivalent to the Arabic #20
.
Roman numerals were used from 1941 to 1953 and then again from 1957 to 1985.
So this pin has to be
at least 30 years old
.
The actual size is ¼ inch high, and has a little chain to attach to your membership pin.
This numeral guard
denotes years of membership in the Girl Scouts and it is accumulative from childhood to the present.
It is one of the few pins that is official for your uniform.
It can be worn on the tab, or on the blouse itself.
Many
adults prefer the Roman Numerals, so I'm not sure why they are no longer in use.
You cannot purchase this pin at a Girl Scout Store because they
were discontinued 30 years ago
