Scarce 1948 Kar Bike Pedal Car Bike Double Bar All Original Only Made 3 Years
Here is a very scarce Quadricycle that was produced by Weller of Milwaukee Wisconsin.  This was only made for 3 years from mid-1946 to 1949.
This was known as a sidewalk cruiser in 1946 and it was decided that it was a cross between a pedal car and a bike, hence the name.  The biggest selling feature on this bike was the pivoting front axle.  No matter how fast you took a corner, both front tires stayed on the ground.
There were two versions of this made and one is a single bar or tube, the other is a double tube.  This is the double bar version which is much harder to find and more desirable than the single bar.  This is in amazing condition as it has all original paint, seat, aluminum steering wheel, tires, hubcaps, and even the original Weller decal intact. One of the front rubber tires have split, and I have taken a picture of it.   I see a few of these pictured in museums and to be totally honest the only ones that looked better than this one were the restored ones.  This was a very price kids ride on in 1948 a Boston Store ad showed it being offered for .50, Wow!! that is comparable to 7 today.  Not to mention the minimum wage in 1948 was 40 cents an hour.  Just think of that you would have to work 81 hours or two full weeks of wages to buy this back in 1948.
This item can be shipped, I would prefer a local pick up, but if you want it shipped I will gladly do it.  If you are having it shipped it can only be shipped through UPS or Fedex as it is too big for USPS.  This will require a large double walled box that I will have to buy and the cost of the box is , and this will be added to the shipping.  You are buying what is listed in the title and pictured here.  I have taken numerous pictures of this item, and should you require more information please feel free to email me and I will do the best to answer any questions.  Because grading is subjective to each individual, it is important that you review all pictures closely.  If there is some damage or missing parts I will do my best to always mention what I see.  All items I offer are sold as is,  as pictured, no returns, so please look at the pictures ask questions and judge it for yourself.
